The Sheriff’s Department has given us the all clear, and the soft lockdown at our school has now been lifted. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and trust as we put safety first for our Village. We’re glad to be back to a regular day!

🚨 Update from HCA Kershaw
Out of an abundance of caution, our campus is currently on a soft lockdown while the Sheriff’s Department manages a situation in the nearby area. This is not on school property, and there is no direct threat to our students or staff.
During a soft lockdown, everyone stays inside the building and classes continue as normal. Our School Resource Officer is onsite and keeping us updated in real time.
✅ Most importantly—our campus is calm, safe, and all is well. We’ll notify families as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

Our HCAK families got a first message from Mrs. Eichelberger on Friday, but we want to share a little more about the amazing leader guiding our Village!
👉 Mrs. Eichelberger comes to us from Lexington County and is a proud USC graduate (Go Gamecocks! 🐔). She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, along with two master’s degrees—one in special education and one in school leadership.
👉 She has been in education for 14 years and serving in school leadership for over 2 years. Her experience, energy, and passion for serving students shine through in all that she does.
👉 At home, she’s the proud mom of two children (ages 11 and 8). She shares, “I’m also a proud baseball and dance mom, and I love cheering my kids on from the stands and in the studio. Those experiences keep me grounded and remind me of the joy that comes from being part of a supportive community.” 💬
Mrs. Eichelberger had a wonderful first week on campus and is looking forward to another great one ahead. She can’t wait to see everyone back at school tomorrow! 💙💛

🦜 Pirate Day sails in on Thursday, September 18! All students and staff are invited to dress like pirates (school-friendly, please) for a day full of fun and spirit. The official day nationwide is Friday...but that's picture day and families may not want a pirate themed yearbook photo! 😅
💙 For over the last decade, this has been an event on the HCA Aiken campus that our students/staff have always enjoyed!
