Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade GATE students explored entrepreneurship by creating their own products and services, then pitching them Shark Tank–style. With parent volunteers serving as our “sharks,” students impressed everyone with their budgeting, marketing skills, and persuasive pitches. Amazing job to all our young entrepreneurs!

From January 5–January 16, families are invited to participate in our Stallion Swap! Parents may turn in gently used clothing their child has outgrown and swap it for something new-to-them.
It’s a great way to recycle, save, and support our school community! Swap forms have been sent home in your students folder!
Our SRO, Officer Barnwell, surprised our students with early Christmas gifts! His kindness, generosity, and genuine care for our kids do not go unnoticed. We are so thankful to have someone who shows up every day with a heart for our school and our students.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Black River Electric for their quick response and hard work during this extremely cold weather the past two days. Their team arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and helped get our power restored as quickly as possible.
We also want to give a big shoutout to our amazing students for how wonderfully they handled the situation. Their patience, flexibility, and positive attitudes did not go unnoticed. We are so proud of them!
We truly appreciate their dedication, professionalism, and willingness to serve our community, especially in tough conditions like these. We’re so thankful for all they do! 👏

💙 Mr. Manning is a longtime Kershaw County educator with over 28 years of experience, and he jumped right in on his first day today with incredible enthusiasm. He’s passionate about teamwork, strong school culture, and keeping the focus on what matters most—our teachers and our students.
💛 We are also incredibly grateful to Mrs. Joanna Eichelberger, who came to support HCAK this fall from HCA Aiken. She provided steady leadership during an important time, and she will now return to her full-time role at HCA Aiken. We are so thankful for everything she helped put in place.

📢 HCA Kershaw Families,
We wanted to share a quick reminder following the message sent via email yesterday. The electrical company will be completing mandatory maintenance on our transformer Monday, November 10, so students will have an e-learning day instead of attending in person.
📚 What to know:
Paper learning packets will go home Friday, November 7
Students will complete about 30 minutes each of ELA, Math, and Science/Social Studies
Teachers will hold digital office hours 9–11 AM Monday via email or ClassDojo
